Mushrooms La Catedral de Navarra
The canned mushrooms La Catedral de Navarra are made in the town of Mendavia, Navarra, from Pleurotus ostreatus mushrooms. This variety of mushroom, also known as oyster mushroom, is highly coveted in gastronomy for having an exquisite taste and a multitude of healthy properties for our body as its important contribution in selenium and polysaccharides. The Pleurotus ostreatus mushroom can be easily distinguished by its stem growth in relation to its upper part, its greyish colour, its stem displaced to one side and its shiny smooth surface.
La Catedral de Navarra elaborates its canned mushrooms in a traditional way and presents them in glass jars for their proper preservation. For consumption, we recommend heating them gently in a frying pan with just a drizzle of virgin olive oil and a little chopped garlic. You can also use them as an accompaniment to various stews and different pasta sauces.
