Lagar do Merens – RIBEIRO

TASTING NOTES:

Appearance: Pale yellow color with green and lemony reflections. Clean, transparent and bright. Good tear.

Nose: Complex nose with good intensity, terpene character, white fruits and hair, pear, apple, peach… Floral, acacia, myrtle, chamomile and light balsamic nuances, mint, peppermint and aticolate notes.

Palate: Ample, slightly oily, full, enveloping and glyceric, slightly acidic, well-structured and very long, fruity.

Vineyard: This is a colleiteiro winery with its own production of 3.5 hectares. vineyard. The soils have a granitic base with a sandy loam texture and an average depth of 70 – 100 cm. Located on slopes with a certain gradient saved by socalcos, the varieties used are those native to Ribeiro: Treixadura, Godello, Torrontés, Loureira and Lado. In the winery, priority is given to the work in the vineyard to obtain the highest quality. in their grapes.

Winemaking: No more and no less than 6 grape varieties, all of them Galician, are involved in the elaboration of this wine. The grapes are macerated in a pneumatic press with carbonic snow for 4-6 hours (the cold helps to preserve the aromas of the grapes and thus achieve greater intensity). Fermentation, during 21 days, takes place in stainless steel tanks, where the wine remains for 8 months on fine lees that will give it more structure and density.
