The Santa Catarina Cannery was awarded two medals in 2012 and four medals in 2013, in the National Canned Fish Competitions, organized by CNEMA – National Center of Agricultural Exhibitions and Markets.
Awards received at the National Agriculture Fair, in Santarém, Portugal.
The tuna is caught in the Atlantic waters with line and hook, through a traditional and centenary fishing art known as ” * SALTO E VARA “. It is then cooked in brine, following the tradition of the ancient canners of the island of St. George. The result is a tuna of incomparable taste and texture.
